I joined the AULP paint out group at Vance Birth Place just north of Asheville on September 26th. It was a beautiful day. I set up in the center of the major group of buildings that had interesting patterns of light. I started with watercolor pencils, which I laid down with an alcohol wash. The main emphasis, for me, was on how the light hit the buildings and trees, making for lovely patterns in the shadows.
